It has more than a month I didn't update my blog. My mom always asked my niece to open up my blog coz she want to read what I write everytime. She told me is nice to read, hehe:) Recently my mom asked me why long time not blogging and I told her very busy. Too many things came together, so busy with my online store, nowadays dd Sasha getting more naughty everyday, and also my new home getting key soon.
Since last month, when my brother left to UK to work. I felt that my family are more important than anything else in the world. How much money you can gain, if without family around you, there is no meaning at all. I was talking to my both sisters Audrey & Cece and my few bestfriends Jasmine Tan, Amber and Ammie that we shouldn't take our life for granted. We should do a lot of good deed then our family members will have good life and happiness.
When I started my online store, I do it for fun so that I can buy in a bulk and enjoy the discount for my own used. As long as I can earned some pocket money from my e-store and I can buy what I want coz is not nice always asked money from DH. Starting up a business is easy but maintaining a business is not easy at all. You have up and down such as sales, clients and incurred some unnecessary expenses like huge taxes on your products. (I think all online store owner will agreed on what I said)
When you started to get more money, you will be greedy for more...As I said how much money we think are enough? Money is important in a way that when we need it for rainy day but if you can spare a small amount of money to those unfortunate people, we have make a a good deed. Giving out your helping hands, you have help a lot of unfortunate people out there.
Today I was chatting with my bestfriend, Ammie thru msn. She told me she went to Leisure Mall and fullfil a young girl wished. Recently at Leisure Mall concourse, there is a wishing tree (dome) that hang a lot of orphanage wishes cards (I'm not been there yet). You can pick any one card down and see what they wished, my friend Ammie picked a 4yr old girl wish card and she wished to have a pink color sport shoes, a badminton racket and shuttle. So my friend went to bought the pink color sport shoes but can't managed to buy badminton racket and shuttle. Then she passed the shoes with the card to the staff there. They will send to the orphan from Ti-Ratana Welfare Home in Salak South Bahru, Desa Petaling.
Ammie given me the Ti-Ratana website and I found out that this non government welfare home was establish by an India Monk. Check out at http://www.ti-ratana.org if you are interested to donate things or monetary form to them. Ti-Ratana orphans are as young as few days old baby, and they need a lot of baby stuff. Sometimes I find that the kids from the orphanage are getting very materialistic. In their wish list, they no longer ask for the basic stuffs, I have seen them wishing for PSP, remote control cars etc etc.. their wish list can be hard to fulfill at times...
If I have the flexibility with time, I rather go to the orphanage to spent time with them , be their part time tutor then fulfilling their material wish.
Montessorimum, I understand what you mean but they go to school like normal person. So they will mix around with some friends from well to do families background. Children are easily influence by friends coz outside world are polluted with a lot of materialistic people around us.
Of course if we have time, we will try to spend our time with them but if we can afford we can give out what we afford only. This is just they wish and I'm sure not all their wish will comes true.
that's very generous of you... yes, there's so much we can do for charity.. take care..
Hi Sting, I just do whatever I can do for now. Hopefully more people can view my blog and help them too.
Thank you...
glad I stopped by your blog. Will be checking out your store now.. it's good to be saving money and doing a good cause at the same time though I do agree with montessorimum on rather going to the orphanage and spending time with them... time is just not on our side most times..
True, some of the orphanage are so dilapilated the gates couldnt close and the floors are cemented. But some like those church sponsored ones in Sunway are so glamorous the kids have a computer each and matching bedsheets with pillow case. I think there is lack of public awareness on these poor ones and too much publicity on the more comfortably off orphanage. I am so glad you highlight these too, Brenda. I used to send my stuff to one but I think the ones in your posts need donations more
Jess & Christene, I would like to say thank you in advance. If you have any unused stuff, pls donate to them.
Christene, you are true not all the orphanage homes are so lucky. Some lack of publicity, the children have to share one item among all.
Our children are so lucky to have us, but the orphanage are not that lucky. So we just do our best!
You know, Brenda, after reading the blog on ti-ratana, it niggles at me so much the next day, i picked up all the stuff i meant to stow away at my FIL's house this weekend and brought it over to ti-ratana. Not much things, really, just some old cloth diapers which i dont really like and Ashley's outgrown clothes for the last few months, 2 new stuff toys given by Kimberly's Aunty Michelle when she visits last month and Ashley's moses crib. But I figured the month old baby may need it more in the future than it being stored in my FIL's storeroom. I feel bad about not having able to do more though.
Christene, u r so wonderful. I hope that more n more people after viewing my blog can help them too. It doesn't matter how many things you can give, as long as I believe that how much effort we put in to help them.
U hv put so much effort to dig out all those old stuff n send to them. They need those things more than us. Thank you so much...
I hope I can get more money from my X'mas Sales to donate to those Charities Homes. Last week I have send 2 boxes of old n new stuff that donated by my sis, mom n niece to another homes is Taman Megah Handicapped Children.
My sis who lives in Taman Megah says that every morning, the kids there lined outside the gates and waved at whoever walks pass. Those poor dears. They really pulled at your heartstrings, dont they? Apparently, the one in Taman Megah is quite dilapilated too.
It wasnt much what I did,Brenda. But I am glad you highlighted their needs in your blog for our awareness
Yup, the taman megah has 130 children lived in a 2 storey corner hse. It was so congested for so many ppl lived in a hse.
We just pray that more kind hearted ppl can help them too.
i read all the post here, the first comments said nowaday the orphanage are getting materialistic. Actually just compare our kids with them, then we will know whether are they really materialistic or not? Orphanage are not like our kids, so lucky as our kids have us to provide or fulfill not all but at least certain wish list in life such as for boys remote control cars or for girls toys or girlish thingy...we ourselves were kids before, we have wish list and definitely we have a long list of wish list, sometimes our parents will fulfilled it and satisfied us, and we will be happy for a period of time. Kids are not like us, they are easily happy with a small gesture that we did for them, either spend our time with them or just once a while get them a surprise gift, as for the orphanage, that's only once a year that they request or make a wish and hope for the Santa to fulfill their dream, do you think they are really that materialistic? Children are Angel from the god, if i have a son, surely i know he wish for a remote control car, they are just children, they do not have a complicated mind like us, when you ask them what they wish for the Santa to send them, surely they will tell you directly from their heart, right?
Remember, they are human too, everybody has wish list starting from our life as being a kid to adult, when we are young we depend on our parents and hope that they can fulfill our dream from time to time, not once a year! That's too long to wait for!
Christmas soon, everybody in the orphanage house awaiting their surprise after waiting for a year, do you think they are too much to wish for?
Ask ourselves, do we have a dream deep down in your heart?? Besides all these, we are very lucky to have our family together and we are healthy! So why not just do the charity from the heart and make these little one dream come true if we can, let them know the society care for them even they do not have mama papa to love them??
Ammie, I totally agreed with your said. Is so true that our kids are too pampered and so lucky to have us around. They are not so lucky as our kids.
We will do our best to give the charities homes some laughter, joy and happiness too. Hope they have a wonderful Christmas with all the generous people around them.
Brenda - God bless you for what you're doing! Ya, there are still MANY families/kids out there who lack basic necessities or other items they want.
I agree with you that just because they are orphans, this does not mean they are not entitled to fun/beautiful things other kids get. Also, many honest, sincere, underprivileged places are not getting enough publicity or help.
Again, there are so many money-making places out there conning people of their money/materials, people are more suspicious nowadays. I'm glad to see that you still believe in helping.
God will bless you in this life and the next for such sincere deeds!
KittyCat, I was so happy that you dropping by.
You are so understanding. Anyway, I think by telling everyone on my blog about those unfortunate children and then can help too.
Thank for your blessing. I hope God bless everyone doing good deed. Blessed there are no more suffer for those unfortunate people.
